Last December, we signed a multi-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with the Netherlands Ministry of Defence for platform upgrades and additional kits.
First Upgrade Completed
This summer, we successfully completed the upgrade of the first Small Unit Immersive Training (SUIT) system. The upgrade brings major improvements in accuracy, latency, and graphic detail, significantly enhancing training realism. This supports the Royal Netherlands Army’s goal of achieving 50% simulation-supported training.
Each system consists of 12 premium Trainee Kits and 2 premium Academy Kits, all fully portable. It’s an impressive achievement that, originally designed for a five-year lifespan, systems have exceeded that by an additional two years
Technology Driving The Innovation
While off-the-shelf technology can go a long way, we added our own innovation: a fusion of HTC and RE-liON sensor technology.
This allows us to cover a 30x30m (900m²) training area with minimal visual aids, space for a squad-sized (12+) unit and a setup time of under 45 minutes, ensuring mobility and efficiency.
Shout-out for their massive support to June + Benjamin/HTC and the team of the Royal Netherlands Army Simulation Centre Land / Joint IT Command
